    Voting 08:00-16:00 CST (UTC+8, no daylight saving) per the CEC announcement of 28 Aug 2026, so the close is 08:00 UTC; ballots are counted at each polling station after the close. The vote is held on the same day as the 2026 local elections (Referendum Act art. 23(1)), so stations count local-election ballots as well. Precedent for a stand-alone referendum: on 23 Aug 2025 (No. 21) the last of the polling stations reported at 19:55:21 CST, under 4 h after the close (CEC per-station completion-time sheet, web.cec.gov.tw/referendum/article/61395). The window end (06:00 CST on 29 Nov) is an ESTIMATE that allows for the combined count. Unofficial counts, not the CEC's announced result.

    Referendum Act art. 30 (passed) and art. 31 (not passed): the commission announces the result '於投票完畢七日內' - within 7 days of the vote, i.e. by Saturday 5 Dec 2026. Art. 29: the case passes if valid 'agree' votes exceed 'disagree' votes and reach at least one quarter of all eligible voters. Precedent: for the 23 Aug 2025 vote (No. 21) the CEC's signed announcement 中選綜字第1143050338號 is dated 29 Aug 2025, day 6 (scan attached to web.cec.gov.tw/referendum/article/61395, read 2 Oct 2026). The opening (00:00 CST on day 3, 1 Dec) is an ESTIMATED floor; the window closes at the end of Monday 7 Dec 2026 CST, two days past the statutory deadline. Lawsuits to annul or to confirm the outcome may be filed within 15 days of the announcement (arts. 48, 50; Taipei High Administrative Court first) but are not a confirmation step: no court-validation stage.
