Returning officers declare each constituency; the IEC publishes the full list. 2022 (vote Sat 9 Apr): 'results published by The Gambia's independent electoral commission on Sunday' 10 Apr, day 1, with the new Assembly due to be sworn in on Thursday 14 Apr (Al Jazeera, 10 Apr 2022). Al Jazeera then reported 19 NPP seats and 11 independents; the IEC's constituency results PDF shows 18 NPP winners and 12 independents, so early counts can be revised. We found no statutory deadline: the Elections Act, 2025 was not available to read online. The window runs to the end of Friday 16 Apr 2027, day 6, erring late beyond the 2022 precedent. The floor (20:00 UTC on polling night) is an estimate. Challenges: the Supreme Court has exclusive original jurisdiction over whether a person was validly elected to the National Assembly (Constitution s.127(1)(c)); it acts only on a petition and does not otherwise confirm the result. We could not read the petition deadline in the Elections Act, 2025.
