On 20 Feb 2028 Cyprus is on EET (UTC+2), so polls close 16:00 UTC. Votes are counted at each polling station and the results sent to the district Returning Officer (s.34(2), (4)). 2023 precedent: on 12 Feb 2023 (runoff) official results with all votes counted were reported in the early evening and the winner was to be formally proclaimed at 18:00 GMT (VOA/Reuters, 12 Feb 2023); on 5 Feb 2023 (first round) the official results were announced the same Sunday evening (Euronews, 5 Feb 2023).
