Held only if no presidential formula wins on 24 Oct 2027 with more than 45% of the valid affirmative votes, or with at least 40% and a lead of more than 10 points over the runner-up (Constitution arts. 97-98; Código Electoral Nacional art. 149), as declared by the Asamblea Legislativa (art. 120). Only the two most-voted formulas take part (art. 151). The Senate and the Chamber of Deputies have no second round.

CEN art. 71(h): nothing may be published until 3 hours after the close; the DINE's first provisional data came at 21:00 local in 2025 (Infobae, 26 Oct 2025). 2023 runoff: the DINE provisional count was out on polling night (Ámbito, 21 Nov 2023, quoting 55.69% for the winner). The window closes at the end of Monday 22 Nov local. Provisional, not the result.
