DATE (tentative, latest lawful Sunday): Constitution art. 90 requires the election 'during the last three months of the presidential term'. The current term began with the oath of 21 Oct 2024 (Constitution art. 92; Africanews 22 Oct 2024), so it runs to 20 Oct 2029 and the window is about 21 Jul - 20 Oct 2029. Electoral Law art. 102: polling on a public holiday or weekly rest day. The last Sunday in the window is 14 Oct 2029. (Monday 15 Oct 2029, Evacuation Day, is a public-sector holiday under Presidential Decree n° 2021-223 of 7 Dec 2021 (per tuniscope.com, not read in the gazette) and could arguably also satisfy art. 102; the national polls of 2022 and 2024 were held on a public holiday (Sat 17 Dec 2022, Revolution Day) and on Sundays. If 21 Oct 2029 were read as still inside the term, Sunday 21 Oct would be the latest.) The date is fixed by a presidential convocation decree issued at least three months ahead (art. 101); 2024 precedent: Décret n° 2024-403 of 2 Jul 2024 for 6 Oct. A vacancy (Constitution art. 109) would bring an earlier election. POLLS CLOSE: hours are set by the convocation decree (art. 102); 2024 precedent 08:00-18:00 (La Presse, 5 Oct 2024). Tunisia keeps UTC+1 all year: 18:00 local = 17:00 UTC. STAGE: the ISIE does not run an election-night count feed; it declares PRELIMINARY results by decision 'within at most the three days following polling and the end of counting' and posts them with the tally sheets on its website (Electoral Law art. 144). 2024: preliminary decision dated 7 Oct 2024, the day after polling (cited in Décision n° 552); the 2024 calendar set the deadline at 9 Oct (Décision n° 543 art. 14). The window closes at the end of the third day, 17 Oct 2029 local. Preliminary, not final.

Electoral Law art. 148: the ISIE declares the FINAL results by a decision published on its website and in the JORT. Presidential disputes go to the judiciary since Loi organique n° 2024-45: art. 145 bis, appeal against the preliminary results to the Court of Appeal of Tunis within 3 days of their posting, hearing within 3 days, judgment within 5 days of the hearing, parties notified within 3 days; art. 146 bis, appeal to the Court of Cassation within 3 days of notification, hearing within 3 days, judgment within a week, notification within 48 hours; art. 148, the ISIE declares the final results within 48 hours of receiving the last Court of Cassation decision, or after the appeal period lapses, by a decision published on its website and in the Official Gazette (JORT). All days count as working days (art. 148 ter). Art. 148 bis sets shorter deadlines (about 17 days in all) but says they apply to presidential elections held under art. 90 para. 4 and art. 109 of the Constitution (a reopened or early election); this record uses the longer regular deadlines. Summed: up to 3 days to the preliminary results plus 31 days of appeals = 34 days after polling day. From 14 Oct 2029 that gives 17 Nov 2029, the window's end (end of day, local); the 2024 calendar likewise set the final-result deadline 34 days after polling (6 Oct -> 9 Nov 2024, Décision n° 543 art. 14). The opening is an ESTIMATED floor: preliminary results the day after polling plus the 3-day appeal period. 2024 precedent: no appeal was lodged and the ISIE declared the final results by Décision n° 552 of 11 Oct 2024, five days after polling (isie.tn 2024 presidential page). The courts rule inside this window and the ISIE's final declaration follows them, so there is no separate court-validation stage. If no candidate wins an absolute majority, these are the final first-round results that trigger the second round (see tunisia-presidential-2029-r2).
