    Polling day DERIVED, not decreed, and less firmly than in regions whose statute fixes the fourth Sunday of May. Statute art. 52: the legislature ends 'al cumplirse cuatro años de la fecha de las elecciones' (28 May 2027); art. 55 lets the President dissolve early; Law 8/1986 art. 11 applies LOREG art. 42. In 2023 the President used a dissolution-and-convocation decree (Decreto 2/2023 of 3 Apr, BOIB 42 of 4 Apr 2023) to vote on 28 May 2023, the day of the municipal elections (fourth Sunday of May, LOREG art. 42.3). 23 May 2027 assumes the same practice (ESTIMATE). Without such a decree, LOREG art. 42.2 (decree on the 25th day before the mandate expires, election on the 54th day after) would put polling day around 27 Jun 2027 (estimate). Snap-election risk: art. 55 has no final-year bar, but no dissolution signal was found. The Junta Electoral Central's 'Elecciones en curso' page listed no election in progress on 30 Sep 2026. Polls: LOREG art. 84.1, 09:00-20:00 (supletory); 20:00 CEST = 18:00 UTC. 2023 precedent: the Government (Conselleria de Presidència) distributed provisional results on its electoral-processes website on polling day. Provisional count only; it excludes the votes of electors resident abroad (CERA), which are counted at the general scrutiny (LOREG art. 75). The window's end (02:00 local time on Monday) is an ESTIMATE; the 2023 time of 100% counted was not verified. Held on the same day as the municipal elections (LOREG art. 42.3).

    Law 8/1986 art. 6: the Junta Electoral de las Islas Baleares assumes the provincial board's functions and proclaims the elected. LOREG timing (supletory, Additional Provision 1.3): general scrutiny on the 5th day, Fri 28 May 2027, from 10:00 (arts. 103.1, 104.2); it must end by the 8th day, Mon 31 May (art. 107.2); then one day for claims, one for the board's decision, a possible appeal to the Junta Electoral Central, and proclamation of the elected 'dentro del día siguiente' (art. 108.2-4). 2023 precedent: general scrutiny began 2 Jun 2023 (day 5); the Junta proclaimed the elected deputies on 12 Jun 2023 (day 15), published in BOIB 78 of 13 Jun 2023. The 2027 equivalent of day 15 is Mon 7 Jun. The opening is the ESTIMATED floor (start of the scrutiny). The window closes at the end of Mon 21 Jun 2027 CEST, the day before the latest legal date for the new Parliament's constitution (Statute art. 41.5: 'en el plazo máximo de treinta días después de la celebración de las elecciones', i.e. by Tue 22 Jun), which requires the proclamation first. Proclamations can be challenged in the contentious-electoral procedure (LOREG arts. 109-117, which bind regional elections); the result does not wait for a court, so there is no court-validation stage.
