Government. Days from polling day to the National Assembly's election of the Prime Minister: 2013 (11 May to 5 Jun, VOA), 2018 (25 Jul to 17 Aug, Arab News), 2024 (8 Feb to 3 Mar, Daily Pakistan/PILDAT). Press dates, not yet checked against na.gov.pk. The vote follows the Speaker's election at the first sittings, so the gap is short; a government market needs a deadline beyond the longest precedent. Not before . Precedents: 25 and 23 and 24 days from polling day.

Provisional results: each Returning Officer announces a provisional consolidated statement (Form-47, excluding postal ballots) once all Presiding Officers' counts (Form-45) are in (Elections Act 2017 s.92); s.13(3) asks for partial results by 02:00 PKT the day after polling and complete provisional results not later than 10:00 PKT. Precedent 2024 (polling Thu 8 Feb, polls closed 17:00 PKT): the ECP began announcing NA provisional results just after 04:00 PKT on 9 Feb and issued the complete provisional results on Sun 11 Feb 2024 at 17:23 PKT, about 72 h after polls closed, with NA-8 postponed and NA-88 withheld (Aaj News, 11 Feb 2024, english.aaj.tv/news/30350530). Window closes at the end of day 3 (Wed 2 May 2029, PKT, UTC+5, no DST). Provisional, not the notified result; the Form-47 statements stay published alongside the later Form-49 results and Gazette notifications rather than being overwritten.

Elections Act 2017 s.95: the Returning Officer consolidates the results including postal ballots (Form-48, Final Consolidated Result Form-49); s.98(1): 'the Commission shall, within fourteen days from the date of the poll, publish in the official Gazette the name of the contesting candidate who has received the highest number of votes and stands elected' - by Sun 13 May 2029 for a 29 Apr poll; the Constitution's art. 224(2) likewise says results 'shall be declared not later than fourteen days after the conclusion of the polls' (art. 224(1), the term-expiry case, says 'fourteen days before that day', an unamended remnant). s.98(3): a winner who has not filed an election-expenses return within ten days is not notified, so individual seats can lag. Precedent 2024: ECP Gazette notifications of returned NA candidates dated 11, 12, 14, 16 and 22 Feb 2024 (day 3 to day 14), per ECP PDFs listed by search engines (ecp.gov.pk unreachable from here on 2 Oct 2026, not opened). The 70 reserved seats (60 women, 10 non-Muslims) are allotted afterwards by party-list PR, counting independents who join a party within three days of the Gazette publication (Const. art. 51(6)(d)-(e)); in 2024 their allocation was litigated. The window opens at the start of day 3 (2 May PKT) as in 2024 and closes at the end of Tue 15 May 2029 PKT, two days past the statutory day 14, for the general seats; reserved seats may come later. Election petitions go to Election Tribunals (s.139 ff.); no court confirms the result, so no court-validation stage.
  3. Government formed
    → —
    precedent
Constitution art. 91(2): the National Assembly 'shall meet on the twenty-first day following the day on which a general election to the Assembly is held, unless sooner summoned by the President' - Sun 20 May 2029 for a 29 Apr poll; art. 53(1) Speaker and Deputy Speaker first, then art. 91(3)-(4) the Prime Minister is elected without debate by a majority of the total membership. The President may summon the NA sooner: in 2018 it met on 13 Aug, day 19 after the 25 Jul poll (press reports, search), so the window opens at the start of day 19 (18 May 2029 PKT). 2024: inaugural sitting 29 Feb (day 21), PM elected 3 Mar 2024 (PILDAT; Daily Pakistan 29 Feb 2024).
