    announced
There is no official running count on election night: each polling station posts its edital after the national closing hour (Lei 8/2013 art. 94) and reports it up the chain (art. 95), but the CNE does not publish progressive results (EU EOM 2024 final report: the provisional results were not published progressively by district or polling station, only at provincial level at the 24 Oct event). The district and city commissions announce their tallies through the media 'no prazo máximo de três dias, contados a partir do dia do encerramento da votação' (art. 107), by 18 Oct 2029; the provincial commissions within five days (art. 115), by 20 Oct 2029. The window closes at the end of 20 Oct 2029 CAT (UTC+2). Polls are open 07:00-18:00 (art. 69(1)); voters in the queue at 18:00 still vote (art. 75(2)); 18:00 CAT = 16:00 UTC (Mozambique has no DST). Partial, provisional counts only.
  2. Final result
    →
    announced
The CNE's general tally (apuramento geral): the CNE centralises the provincial results for the presidential candidates (art. 118) and its President announces the results 'num prazo máximo de 15 dias contados a partir da data do encerramento da votação' (art. 123), i.e. by Tue 30 Oct 2029; the window closes at the end of that day CAT. The CNE then sends the minutes and official maps to the Constitutional Council (arts. 122, 126). Precedents: 2024, vote 9 Oct, CNE announced on 24 Oct, day 15 (EU EOM 2024 final report; Renascença, 24 Oct 2024); 2019, vote 15 Oct, CNE announced on 27 Oct, day 12 (Renascença, 27 Oct 2019). The opening (day 10) is an ESTIMATED floor. NOT DEFINITIVE: these figures only become final when the Constitutional Council validates and proclaims them (court-validation stage). In 2024 the Council's validated result differed substantially from the CNE's: the leading presidential candidate's share fell from 70.67% to 65.17%, and 24 Assembly seats moved between lists (EU EOM 2024 final report). The CNE's website (www.cne.org.mz) showed only an empty directory listing on 2 Oct 2026, so there is no CNE results page to cite.

    precedent
Required: Lei 8/2013 art. 127: the Constitutional Council, after deciding the complaints and appeals, assesses the CNE's minutes and editais of the national centralisation of the presidential results 'para efeitos de validação e proclamação', and publishes them in the Boletim da República. Lei n.º 2/2022 (Organic Law of the Council) arts. 124-125: distribution within 2 days, 3-day reviews by each judge and the Public Prosecutor, a plenary within 3 days after, 10 days to draft the acórdão, and the public proclamation the day after its adoption. No overall deadline: 'A lei não fixa um prazo para o CC declarar os resultados' (EU EOM 2024 final report). Precedents: 2024, the Council proclaimed the results of the 9 Oct vote on Mon 23 Dec 2024 at 15:00, day 75 (Council's own notice of 22 Dec 2024, cconstitucional.org.mz); 2019, Acórdão n.º 25/CC/2019 dated 22 Dec 2019, day 68 (as reported; the text was not read). The opening, day 30, is an ESTIMATED floor from the procedural steps. The window closes at the end of 14 Jan 2030 CAT, day 91: the President-elect was invested on 15 Jan in both 2020 and 2025 (Observador, 2 Jan 2025), so validation is expected before that date. If no candidate wins more than half of the valid votes, the Council's validation opens a second round between the top two (art. 133), held 'até 30 dias após a validação e proclamação dos resultados do primeiro sufrágio' (art. 147(1)) on a date set by the President on the CNE's proposal: on the precedents that falls in January 2030, so no runoff file is profiled.
