    Statute of the Sicilian Region art. 3: "L'Assemblea regionale è eletta per cinque anni. Il quinquennio decorre dalla data delle elezioni." and "Le elezioni della nuova Assemblea regionale sono indette dal Presidente della Regione e potranno aver luogo a decorrere dalla quarta domenica precedente e non oltre la seconda domenica successiva al compimento del periodo di cui al precedente comma" (decree published no later than the 45th day before polling). Last election Sunday 25 Sep 2022 (D.P. n. 491 of 8 Aug 2022), so the five years are completed on Saturday 25 Sep 2027; the fourth Sunday before is 29 Aug 2027 and the second Sunday after is 3 Oct 2027. 3 Oct 2027 is the LATEST legal date, not an announced one: the President of the Region has not called the election (tentative). The ARS commentary to L.r. 29/1951 applies the same count to the 28 May 2006 election (window "tra domenica 1 maggio 2011 ... e domenica 5 giugno 2011").
