No state was on daylight saving (it ended Sunday 6 April 2025), so 6 pm was 08:00 UTC in NSW, Vic, Qld, Tas and ACT, 08:30 UTC in SA and NT, and 10:00 UTC in WA; pollsCloseUtc is the last close (WA), as in australia-legislative-2028. The result is each Divisional Returning Officer's declaration of the elected candidate, then the return of the writs to the Governor-General (Electoral Act s.284). The AEC said the writ 'was required to be returned no later than 9 July 2025' (media release, 12 Jun 2025); expectedBy is the end of that day AEST. Declarations ran from 15 May (Maranoa) to Friday 6 June 2025 9:00 am AEST (Bradfield, the last seat, after a recount; AEC 'Declaration events', scheduled times).
