Polls are open from 7 a.m. and "shall remain open until 8 p.m." (Utah Code § 20A-1-302); Utah is on Mountain time, so polls close at 8:00 PM MST = 03:00 UTC on 4 Nov. Utah votes mainly by mail: a mailed ballot "must be received by the election officer on or before 8 p.m. on election day", and drop-box and in-person ballots must be deposited before 8 p.m. (§ 20A-3a-204(3), as amended effective 7 May 2025; the LG's 2026 Election Calendar repeats that ballots must be received by 8 PM on election day). Counties post unofficial results on electionresults.utah.gov after polls close. The window closes at 7:00 AM MST on 4 Nov: an estimate of when the first overnight count is in, not a published time.
