Held only if no candidate receives more than half of the votes cast on 27 Jan 2030; it is then a new election between the two candidates who received the most votes (Constitution 731/1999 §54). Election day is 'ensimmäistä vaalia seuraava toinen sunnuntai' (Vaalilaki 714/1998 §127), and the Ministry of Justice names the two candidates in the Statute Book on the second day after the first round (§139).

The window closes at the end of Friday 15 Feb 2030, EET, one day past the statutory day to allow for a late district. 2024 precedent: results page TPV-2024_2 marked the checking count complete at 14.02.2024 19:31 EET; the Ministry of Justice published the confirmed result at 19:39 EET and said the Government would announce it at its plenary on Thursday 15 Feb (valtioneuvosto.fi release of 14 Feb 2024) - days 3 and 4.
